This is an excellent video that recounts the events of the early 1970s and 1980s, a time when Phyllis Schlafly became the leader of the pro-family movement and against all odds was able to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment.  Three generations of women have been propagandized and have not heard the true story.  I was in Chicago from 1977-1979 and was on the front lines as a delegate at the International Womens Year.  I am a witness to what Phyllis shares in this short history.

 

 

Call for Prayer and Fasting – Homosexuals and Atheists: The BSA’s Slippery Slope

We ask for your fasting and prayers for religious leaders, government leaders and the leadership of the Boy Scouts of America as it takes a vote Monday, July 27, 2015 whether to admit homosexual scout leaders.  The admission of homosexual scouts has opened Pandora’s Box and it is only the beginning.

Most people believe that the assault against the Boy Scouts of America is simply a matter of inclusion for homosexual scouts and leaders. It is much more. It’s an assault on religious liberty and the unalienable constitutional right to private property and freedom of speech and assembly.

For those paying attention, homosexuals are not the only challenge. In 2013, the same year the BSA voted to include openly homosexual boys (a direct conflict with its own religious policy), atheists have been making the same appeal for inclusion.

According to a USA Today opinion editorial by Pastor Chris Hill and Family Research Council Senior Research Fellow Peter Sprigg, “Homosexual activists demand to be admitted to all phases of Scouting, while conservatives insist that being an ‘open and avowed homosexual’ (not just someone who has privately experienced same-sex attraction) is inconsistent with the Scout’s oath to be ‘morally straight.’ Giving an inch to the demands of political correctness will only put the Scouts on a slippery slope toward complete capitulation”

The BSA’s declaration on religious principle states:

“The BSA maintains that no member can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God. In the first part of the Scout Oath or Promise the member declares, ‘On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law.'”

To Lead or Not to Lead:  That Is the Question

On Monday, July 27, 2015, the BSA Executive Council of 80 members will vote on the next step of this slippery slope: whether the BSA will adopt a policy to admit openly homosexual leaders into its organization. For those following closely this unraveling of the BSA, it’s an extension of the sexual revolution that defies not only God’s laws, but natural law and medical science.

Why then are religious leaders so hesitant to stand boldly for God’s law and natural law? One religious leader, Dallin H. Oaks, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said,

“Even as we seek to be meek and to avoid contention, we must not compromise or dilute our commitment to the truths we understand. We must not surrender our positions or our values. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the covenants we have made inevitably cast us as combatants in the eternal contest between truth and error. There is no middle ground in that contest.”

Will religious leaders capitulate to this new so-called “compromise?” For now (and I use that phrase from experience), according to an article in the Salt Lake Tribune, the resolution the BSA board and delegates will consider would allow charter organizations to decide whether or not they will ban homosexual leaders.

Allow charters to choose. Sounds so fair, doesn’t it?

This approach is not going to have a good ending. Religious and scout leaders that tell us “If we don’t compromise, the BSA will be gone,” are negotiating from a weak position. It shows no leadership. It’s a position coming from fear – of litigation.

Can you imagine fighting a war against terrorism with this strategy?

Wait. The new BSA chairman, Robert Gates, is the former U.S. Secretary of Defense and Director of the CIA. Under his “leadership” the military dropped its Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell policy. Atheists have also attacked the military, calling for removal of military chaplains.

Could it be that this “compromise” strategy is exactly why the U.S. has been losing the war on terrorism?

Should we compromise with evil or sin?  Where are the world’s leaders?

This religious liberty assault on the BSA is not isolated. Atheists are also challenging the BSA ban against them, and they intend to use the same tactics that the LGBT activists have used.

Does it surprise you then that those who believe in God and His commandments are dying a slow death by a thousand stabs, while those who don’t believe in God are taking the BSA down with them on every front?

1. Contact BSA headquarters on or before Monday morning, July 27, 2015.
2. Sign the petition right away so we can deliver it to the Board members on Monday. (We will only identify you by name and city/state.)
3. Call your religious leaders today and let them know that you stand for our constitutional right to freely assemble, and the right of a private organization to establish its policies and religious beliefs.
4. Fast and pray for the BSA and for our sons.

Here is my open letter to the BSA Chairman, Robert Gates.

Dear Mr. Gates:

In May 2013, I wrote a blog post – an open letter to the Boy Scouts of America board members – pleading with them to do the right thing and to continue its “don’t ask-don’t tell” policy. For years, we have coexisted without forcing advocacy of this lifestyle on society, a perversion of God’s ordained marital relationship between a man and a woman.

We warned that adoption of anti-discrimination laws (in any form) is a slippery slope that becomes affirmative action and reverse discrimination that backfires against those who are supposedly harming the discriminated.

For example, how many white, male pre-med students that have achieved higher MCAT scores and who are all-around more qualified than perhaps other competitors have been denied placement in the school of their choice because of race or sex?  How many times did that honor go to another less-qualified candidate? Affirmative action harms everyone.

These policies that define one class as more special than another are popularized in the name of “fairness.”  However, we have observed that affirmative action incites anger and resentment – in two words: class warfare. That, Sir, is what you have done to the military, weakening its internal dynamics and putting heterosexuals in an adversarial position with homosexuals. But what you are now doing is putting minor  males in harm’s way.  You are asking parents to compromise what they teach their children about God’s law.  You are sending a strong message to every Scout that homosexuality is so normal, it must be included.

Now every family that has a young boy that could have benefitted from the moral leadership training of an organization that recognizes God’s law is compromised.

Will the BSA have a dual standard, a dual Oath, a dual policy, materials printed separately for religious charters and atheist/homosexual charters? The BSA is in an identity crisis in a nation that now has a reign of judges that is sending God packing from the public square, a hallmark of the USSR.

Based on these past experiences, and especially in states such as Massachusetts that are well down this anti-discrimination road to normalizing the sexual revolution, as we warned, it would only be a matter of time when the BSA would take its admittance of homosexual scouts a step further to admit homosexual leaders. That time has indeed come.

Many told us we were being ridiculous. Over the past three decades, this has always been the mantra of the sexual revolutionists: “Oh, don’t be silly. That will NEVER happen!”

Well, Mr. Gates, because of you and your colleagues who love compromise, what we warned about is now happening. I can only believe one of two things: either you aren’t aware that homosexuals aren’t born that way, that medical science proves they aren’t born that way, and that the dangerous lifestyle choice of anal sex is hazardous to health, or you endorse all of these perversions and wish to promote them.

It is basic Physiology that the body has parts that provide specific functions. The anus is not made for sex. It’s made for defecation to remove impurities and the residue of what has been ingested. Anal sex leads to dangerous infections, fatal health problems, and shortened life spans. The lifestyle itself is dangerous. The CDC reports that the male homosexual community is responsible for 75% of the top 8 STDs in the U.S., costing us over $16 billion annually for the long-term medical care.

Will any of these warnings be incorporated into the new Boy Scout manuals? Is it not of any concern that this discussion would even take place among 8 year olds?  I will never forget how we could not turn on our TV during the Monica Lewinsky – Bill Clinton scandal without training our 8 year old about oral sex.

Why must we expose young people to these perverted practices in the first place – whether homosexual or heterosexual? Teaching “safe sex” is a ruse.  It has served one purpose:  to normalize sin.  This is what you are promoting.

Please accept my apology for being so blunt about this subject. I am a urologist’s daughter, and we had medical discussions routinely around the dinner table. If we don’t take a balanced approach and extol the virtues of the monogamous, long-term marriage between a man and woman and pair it with the damaging alternative, we are not being morally honest, and few will understand the gross error you are making.

Your position defies logic and violates a fundamental principles upon which the BSA has operated for years – to be morally straight is centered on God’s law.

We have been alarmed with how quickly society has conformed to the demands of LGBTQ advocates. Apparently you are not alarmed. Perhaps your life experience is one of expedience and compromise to go along with the “status quo” as you called it. That would be consistent with how you fought our war against terror.

My Disclaimer
I’ve been called a bigot. My life has been threatened. Tires slashed, windows bashed, swastika spray painted on my driveway and called vulgar names – all because my views. Frequently I’m told, “If you just knew a homosexual, your views would change.”

Frankly, my views have been shaped precisely because I have known many homosexuals and I have witnessed the sadness their choices bring – even death. Many are friends with whom I’ve worked side by side on stage for most of my life. I’ve loved, laughed and cried with them, shared their joys and their sorrows.

I’ve been in their homes and I’ve been inside their “anything goes” mindset. However, I separate what I know about their personal, private lives from my day-to-day interactions. As a producer of a Broadway musical theatre training program that Backstage, the trade paper, rated as best in New York City, I have hired homosexuals not because of their “sexual orientation,” but because their incredible talent.

As a professional actress-singer, we’ve shared ups and downs,  and especially the camaraderie that performing in plays or musicals has naturally engendered. Until recent years, we co-existed, we didn’t discuss our personal sexual lives so openly, and no one was pushing a sexual lifestyle into the forefront of society. It was a non-issue.

Then in the 1980s AIDS hit.  Two of my leading men died very pre-mature deaths because of that sexually transmitted disease. AIDS benefits followed. The Broadway community with which I interacted rallied. And medical science began to be silenced in favor of the politically-protected homosexual lifestyle.

Today a doctor can be fired for being truthful about medical science.  Dr. Paul Church has recently been dismissed after years serving on the faculty and staff of Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Now those who draw the line at the definition of Marriage are regrettably in a position to take a stand. To actively promote this dangerous lifestyle as normal is grossly naive. I have personally witnessed the results that have brought such great sadness over time, and in some instances, premature death.

For myself, nothing has changed. I still show up to rehearsals and performances and separate my personal experience of friendly and caring relationships from the public policy that I advocate.

For me, defending Marriage between a man and a woman and adhering to medical science and the age-old wisdom of avoiding homosexual sex (as well as heterosexual perversion and adultery) is a religious conviction as well as a logical scientific understanding. To normalize and compromise on homosexuality is to normalize and compromise on sin. Opposing God’s laws and natural law brings great sadness and loss of freedom to society.  Indeed, it is a manifestation of the age-old adage “wickedness never was happiness.”

But those embracing “wickedness” are generally not willing to admit any “wickedness.”  In order to accommodate the re-writing of natural law, one must first create an entirely new paradigm that fits the new lifestyle.  Such is the case with homosexuality. Such is the case with those former religious adherents that have chosen to co-habit.  The laws of God become incompatible with the views of man.

If you disagree, Mr. Gates, please provide credible medical science that proves otherwise. It does not exist.

Support for Gay Leaders?

Recently the Deseret News, a newspaper owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reported that you, the former Secretary of Defense, the same leader that removed the “Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell” military policy, are now demanding the same for homosexual leaders. Your remarks were deeply troubling, but not surprising given your background on military policy.

You were named Board president last year. Apparently your colleagues on the BSA board hold a majority view in support of admitting both homosexual scouts AND leaders or you would not have been elected. We were assured the BSA would draw the line with admitting the openly homosexual scout, but not the leader. We were among the doubters. Now here we are one year later, facing a vote to admit them under immoral “leadership.”

According to the May 21, 2015 article, at the BSA meeting in May 2015, you were quoted that the organization’s longstanding ban on participation by openly gay adults “is no longer sustainable.” You called for change “in order to avert potentially destructive legal battles.”

How did the BSA allow this to happen? It didn’t happen overnight. The BSA was apparently so desperate for corporate sponsorship, it brought on corporate leaders whose companies had already sold out to the decade-long arm-twisting from the Human Rights Campaign. They were “backed into a corner” with HRC’s Corporate Equality Index. They compete for the “honor” of highest-rated “homosexual friendly,” in this 54 pages of invasive questions.

In short, Mr. Gates, you have compromised the Godly principles the BSA once represented, obviously principles of leadership you yourself do not believe. In a word, expediency. You yourself said that recent events “have confronted us with urgent challenges I did not foresee and which we cannot ignore.”

What “recent events” do you reference?

In New York state, the BSA has defied the organization’s policy and hired the first openly gay Eagle Scout for its summer camp.

In addition, you cited the recent Court opinion on legalizing homosexual “marriage” as well as the adoption anti-discrimination laws. In your speech to national BSA leaders you said, “I remind you of the recent debates we have seen in places like Indiana and Arkansas over discrimination based on sexual orientation, not to mention the impending U.S. Supreme Court decision this summer on gay marriage…. We must deal with the world as it is, not as we might wish it to be.”

Is this leadership, Mr. Gates? Is that how successful business leaders view the dreams they’ve pursued? Is that how great national leaders have stepped forward to bring struggling nations out from their oppression into liberty? What would the founders of this nation say to your uninspired leadership? May I suggest that Washington, Adams, Jefferson and other Founders would never have won the war for independence had they believed their mission was to deal with the British as it is and not as they wished it to be: gone.

Your leadership is not leadership. It’s morally deficient and an embarrassment to the organization.

You have admitted that the BSA has the authority to revoke charters of those that defy the organization’s policy, but instead you said it would be “harmful” to the boys.

Mr. Gates, what would be harmful to the boys is to place any boy under the “leadership” or mentoring or role modeling of a man or woman living an immoral life – in thought or practice, as age-old scriptural tenets admonish. As a man thinketh….

You are a product of the sexual revolution and you have been deceived.

Unfortunately, the majority of Americans have also been grossly misled by powerful sexual revolutionists, Planned Parenthood among them, aided by the pro-homosexual media. In this well-planned LGBT strategy, the truth has been silenced.

Denied, ignored and silenced are the high rates of male homosexual pedophilia. The soaring statistics on STDs among the male homosexual community are absolutely undeniable and irrefutable. All of this truth has been overshadowed by the lie that “they are born that way” and that the lifestyle is as normal as any other.

So now the compromise is to allow homosexual leaders, but to also allow individual charters to choose whether they will or not.

Another prediction: this will be the ultimate demise of the BSA as we know it. Already, your board’s decision to admit openly homosexual boys has lost 10% of the organization’s membership. You cite the onslaught of support for anti-discrimination laws, which many churches have embraced.

You cited Utah’s passage of its LGBT anti-discrimination law. Of course, this IS the slippery slope, and we did oppose that bill and predicted this would happen.

We have been losing this war especially over the past decade because too many religious adherents and activists have been confused with how they should be fighting this war. They believe a flawed and indefensible interpretation of what Jesus Christ taught in the Sermon of the Mount when he said, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” He was not advocating that his followers allow the secular humanists in high places to go unanswered and to respond in weakness. He meant that the meek are those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and who will submit to and obey His commandments, which did not replace the first Ten! He told the adulteress to go – and sin no more.

Your endorsement of homosexual sex defies the Boy Scout Oath to God on its face.

You had pledged not to address this issue during your term. But now you justify it because so many states have passed anti-discrimination laws, including Utah, as you cited.

Do you remember your parents telling you “just because others are doing it doesn’t make it right?”

You cite litigation as an ultimate threat. This is false. The US Supreme Court has upheld the BSA’s constitutional right as a private organization.

Fox News 13 in Utah quoted you in a feat of completely irrational thought: “Our oath calls upon us to do our duty to God and our country. The country is changing, and we are increasingly at odds with the legal landscape at both the state and federal levels. And, as a movement, we find ourselves with a policy more than a few of our church sponsors reject, thus placing Scouting between a boy and his church.”

You mentioned the “duty to God,” and then acquiesced to immoral court decisions. So you will “cave” on principles simply because the BSA may be sued? You said in your recent Atlanta speech to BSA leaders: “Thus, between internal challenges and potential legal conflicts, the BSA finds itself in an unsustainable position, a position that makes us vulnerable to the possibility the courts simply will order us at some point to change our membership policy.”

As a former Secretary of Defense, was that your philosophy for defending our nation and how to win a war? By caving in to the opposition? Perhaps that is why we are still engaged in the Middle East and apparently with this approach, we are inciting more terrorism. Why would ISIS and Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic terrorists fear the United States with your philosophy?

Your cowardly approach, sir, has put this nation in more than a national security risk position. You have now put it in a moral security risk position. You act based on self-preservation, but it will ultimately kill it. You do not know the enemy. May I suggest you review The Art of War.

While you are compromising, courageous leaders such as attorney Mat Staver, President of Liberty Counsel, is advocating civil disobedience (remember Jesus Christ himself was an example), because God does not expect us to obey unrighteous, unconstitutional, unjust laws.  Where are the modern-day Daniels among us?

Religious Liberty Next?
This assault doesn’t end with this compromise. Next stop: a potential legal threat to strike down another policy, the ban on atheists. Indeed the BSA has been closely aligned with a belief in God. On my honor – to GOD and country.

In an opinion editorial, Pastor Chris Hill and Family Research Council Fellow Peter Sprigg wrote:

“Austin Cline, writing for an online agnosticism/atheism guide, complains, ‘It’s disturbing that the media has focused on discrimination against gays, ignoring discrimination against atheists.’

“In January, David Silverman, the president of American Atheists, said, ‘If they are considering lifting the ban on gays, that a good thing, that’s progress. … I would hope they remove the rest of the bigotry and admit atheists as well.’

“The Freedom from Religion Foundation declared in an action alert, ‘It should not be socially acceptable to exclude either gays or atheists. Talk about proof of who’s on the bottom of the social totem pole in our culture!'”

Again, this is the hallmark of communism.  In review, dare I suggest “we told you so” and also in advance of what’s to come?

Ah, but we were mocked and ridiculed even by allies that “it will do no harm.”

Zack Wahls, a homosexual “Eagle Scout” (whose award should have been revoked at the very launch of his anti-BSA coalition) now welcomes your view. The Human Rights Campaign restated its position – no compromise.  He and his followers might entertain their own youth leadership program, separate from the BSA.  But that would not be inclusion.

Their “no compromise” approach is winning, of course. While we stand by and project “no contest” with such “love and compassion” and compromise and capitulation in the name of Christianity, this movement seeks to destroy Christianity. The Human Rights Campaign is well-tooled strategically and knows precisely what it’s doing. They are laughing at you and us.

Mr. Gates, HRC President Chad Griffin, responded to your comments:

“As we have said many times previously, half measures are unacceptable, especially at one of America’s most storied institutions …. It’s time for BSA leaders to show true leadership and embrace a full national policy of inclusion that does not discriminate against anyone because of who they are.”

(How many Americans have already been indoctrinated to the fallacy that this is “who they are?”)

Meanwhile the BSA’s largest sponsoring organization, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, issued this response:

“We have noted the comments by Boy Scouts of America President Robert Gates in relation to possible policy changes in the Boy Scouts of America. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will, of course, examine any such changes very carefully to assess how they might impact our own century-long association with the BSA.”

It’s time for the People to take action.

Will Pro-Marriage Church Schools Lose Tax Exemptions?

As the nation awaits the US Supreme Court’s decision on the marriage challenge, due any day now, Justice Alito asked the Obama Administration’s Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli his opinion: Will church-owned colleges and universities lose their tax-exempt status for their religious belief that marriage is between a man and a woman?

Verrilli responded: “I don’t think I can answer that question without knowing more specifics, but it’s certainly going to be an issue. I don’t deny that. I don’t deny that, Justice Alito. It is going to be an issue.”

Watch how the Southern Baptists responded:

The Southern Baptists have staked their ground, and they have chosen civil disobedience, vowing a “showdown” at the Supreme Court. They will not cave in, they say, as so many other religions have.

They call it a “Bonhoeffer moment” for religious leaders. Ronnie Floyd, new Southern Baptist Convention leader quoted the German religious hero, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”

Blessings to these courageous religious leaders. History does repeat itself. If you have been watching the brilliant A.D. TV series, you will notice the similarities of our times to the Meridian times, post-Christ, when the disciples also had to make a choice: would they allow Rome and the Sanhedrin to silence them, or would they stand for truth at all costs? They pledged the later, and they became martyrs.

If church and synagogue leaders aren’t willing to defend religious liberty at all costs, then who will? If the Supreme Court rules against those religious tenets and if tax exemptions are hanging in the balance, what real option is there, unless we wish to become slaves to an atheist, agnostic, secular humanist, and dare I say, a fascist state?

Ronald Reagan also reminded us, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Sunset is on its way. Where do you stand?

Utah Valley University President Targeted for Marriage Advocacy

Does a president of a state university have the academic freedom to sign an amicus brief defending personal views on Marriage between a man and a woman?

The LGBTQ(RSTUV, etc) activists say, “No!” to their president Matt Holland, who signed the brief among 100 national scholars and only used his title as an identifier among those scholars.

But the professors, also employees of that same university, think THEY have the right to publish their opposing view in a newspaper using THEIR titles. They say it’s not the same thing.

What hypocrisy. These professors are among a growing fascist movement that seeks to shut down academic freedom and silence anyone that does not agree with them. They claim they would not have had a concern with his signing the brief if he had not listed the university’s name. Yet a year ago Brendan Eich, newly hired CEO of Mozilla (Firefox) was fired for simply contributing to Prop 8 years ago. He had never attached Mozilla to his name.

We recommend that you switch from Firefox to another search engine, even though they are all run by progressives. At least the others haven’t threatened to fire anyone that holds a religious and individual conscience view.

These professors represent a dangerous breed of fascism growing on college campuses everywhere. In spite of its conservative and religious culture, Utah is not spared the latest in this intentional targeting of religious adherents.

Utah passed two bills during the last session, SB 296 and SB 297, that protect county clerks and religious leaders, religious institutions and their affiliates – even FOR-profit commercial enterprises associated with the religious institution – from the housing and employment non-discrimination provisions. But, entities such as a state university were left exposed and at risk.

The LGBT movement is supposedly all about “fairness” and “equality.” Where is the fairness or equality in protecting only a special few (religions) and not all corporations (now defined as “people”).

Those bills did little to protect you and me – the individual believer.

Wasn’t the US Constitution meant to secure the unalienable rights given by God to ALL?
